A young girl, Elaine Emerson, has gone missing and only Dees has a chance of finding her. It seems that Elaine had gone to meet her boyfriend, a mysterious figure she met secretly on the internet, who goes by the name of “Boogeyman” or El Capitan, and whose reality is as cruel and chilling as the worst thing Dees can imagine!

Reviews:

This book is an exceptional thriller. It deals with reality and teenagers nowadays. Child kidnappings are common and people do not give much notice about it. This novel sets as a reminder to everybody to not be fooled by online dating sites, especially teenage girls. The characters in this book aren’t stereotypical and it enhances the twist and turns of this novel. This is a rather nice book to read. One should never be fooled by online daters. We must always keep an eye out on strangers and be wary of our surrounding as well.

Comment : This book really is an eye-opener, for all teenagers. The real dangers of online dating are clearly shown with bits and pieces of thrill and excitement. I finally understand how worrying it must be to parents who have children that wish to continue using online dating sites. Even social media websites are frightening to me now. The book itself has some nice life lessons it wants to teach its readers. Great choice!

Beware of kidnappers. That should be the new slogan for this era. Newspapers, radio, television, it’s everywhere! Kidnappings can be heard all over the world, whether it’s in Malaysia or in the United States of America, it’s horrifying and terrible. Imagine if the kidnappers were to be in the victim’s shoe, would he or she like it if someone were to use her or him as bait? Wouldn’t it be inhumane? Imagine someone using you as ransom. It’s exactly the same as a butcher selling chicken to us humans! Nothing more than buying something you want and by that, I mean the victims.

This is despicable. People say animals are ruthless and are not capable of feeling compassion. Well let me assure you that this is nonsense! The actual evil in this world is nothing but us! We, humans! It’s baffling isn’t it! We always think that humans tend to be kind and compassionate, well, that is the exact part where we get it wrong. We created evil. We don’t see animals kidnap cubs. No, animals kill to LIVE. Whereas us, humans, live to KILL. We are nothing but monsters ourselves and yet, everybody is still denying the fact!

Utterly barbaric! This book is really amazing but to be in a murderer’s mind, it’s just horrendous. The way people manipulate is just so loathsome. Although the author did a pretty good job at writing the descriptions and this novel, I wouldn’t mind tearing the book apart for the utter hatred I felt for the antagonist. Kids, this is why we do not trust strangers, particularly ones in the internet. Never. Trust. Anybody.

Honestly, I felt scared after reading this book. Most of the time, I tend to forget the dangers of the human world. Kidnappings, murder cases, rapes… The crimes we see on the newspapers daily are just too much to count. I am very thankful to be given a chance to read this book. It has become a significant reminder to me that I should always be cautious of the people around me because you can never judge the book by its cover. Some people may seem good, but one can never know the real face behind the façade he/she puts up. The book also mentions the dangers of online dating. Although many already know about the disadvantages of online dating, they still ignore the warnings, thinking that they will be safe. All in all, I love how the book shows the reality of the human world in this book. Keep up the good work, dear author!
