A student nurse has the shock of her life when she discovers her patient, prosecutor Derek Nicholson, brutally murdered in his bed. The act seems senseless – Nicholson was terminally ill with only weeks to live. But what most shocks Detective Robert Hunter of the Los Angeles Robbery Homicide Division is the calling card the killer left behind.
For Hunter, there is no doubt that the killer is trying to communicate with the police, but the method is unlike anything he’s ever seen before. And what could the hidden message be?
Just as Hunter and his partner Garcia reckon they’ve found a lead, a new body is found – and a new calling card. But with no apparent link between the first and second victims, all the progress they’ve made so far goes out of the window.
Pushed into an uncomfortable alliance with the confident Alice Beaumont, Hunter must race to put together the pieces of the investigation . . . before the Death Sculptor puts the final touches to his masterpiece.

Review:

In my opinion, The Death Sculptor is a chilling and nerve-wrecking novel. It is a creative book with an abundant of new techniques used by a killer. The Death Sculptor’s subtle and detailed works of art (or sculpting) intrigues me. Next, this book is also easy to understand and comprehend. Chris Carter has made an excellent job in writing gruesome thrillers. The plot twist in this novel is unexpected and will most definitely catch you off guard. To all crime lovers, this is a must read as well.

Comment : Like most crime-thrillers, the story starts off with two similar cases yet with no apparent connection. Then as the plot thickens our excitement increases with it. I found this back hard to follow at times, and the details a little excessive, and the plot twist most certainly shocked me. I think it was a great read, but not to my taste.

Horrifying. It’s too gory for me. It’s filled with blood and even more blood. I have no idea how anybody would want to read this. I’m not stating this in a passive way but, wouldn’t it be a tad bit too disconcerting for you? Human sculptures, fingers made into puppets, dismembered body parts acting as a puzzle. Well, the jitters would stop flowing all over my body. Then again, suspense readers would love it. So, hopefully, any weak person wouldn’t come by this book.

The first thing that came to my mind was: “Wow, this book is really scary!” I mean, bodies are found and messages are left behind… The author is really good at making the murderer seem like a freaking psychotic man. I couldn’t put down the book the entire time I was reading it. The plot is just so exhilarating that it continues to haunt me for numerous days! Chris Carter has really out done himself. I just can’t wait for his next book!

Wow. Much blood. It’s kind of terrifying to know that there are killers lurking around us. In their shoes, we’re nothing but despicable human being, waiting to be slaughtered, or DESERVED to be slaughtered. Yes, vengeance can be scary and I mean really scary. So never tempt anybody. Who knows what they’re capable of? Heck, even our closest friends or relatives are capable of being murderers!

Guess what people? Never ever deal with crimes. People who avenge are the most fearful humans on earth. Anger clouds over the mind and the only thing present in the mind is to relieve stress. And by that, I mean kill. Nobody is perfect. We make mistakes all the time. Whether it’s a big one or a small one, it all comes with a price. The bigger it is, the pricier it will be. And this is exactly what happened to the poor lads in this book. I wouldn’t exactly say they ask for it since they’ve been drunk when they made their mistakes but anyhow, we should always think twice before doing something. Sometimes, it doesn’t cost us our money, it costs us our life.
