Review:

This is the fourth book to the Gretchen Lowell series by Chelsea Cain. Once again, Chelsea Cain had outdone herself. This is a fast pacing and thrilling book. It even chills you to the core! It has a perfect plot which involves some marine sea creatures, ones you don’t expect could be such deadly weapons. However, Gretchen Lowell has been captures and locked up, meaning she doesn’t appear much in this novel. In my opinion, she is the greatest killer of all time and her lack of murders in this novel saddens me. Nonetheless, this is a great read. You can’t put it down. Even if you do, the plot keeps haunting you till the end.

I think that this book is just about a setup to catch Gretchen again. There are some new characters that are fairly important for subsequent books, but of course, I didn’t know that when I was reading this. I felt a bit lost and confused. But all in all, it was a good read but what I don’t get is why society can idolize Gretchen. It’d be weird if the plot in the story actually becomes a reality in the real world.

Comment : I really quite liked the thought of Gretchen behind bars but how the horrors keep occurring i just cant comprehend. It is like Grace mentioned a little confusing, and I do believe if it where to become a reality it certainly would haunt us all.

Four books and I’m still loving it! This is such an impressive book. Even though Gretchen isn’t the main character in it, Archie still never fails to baffle me with his witty actions. And also, the reporter girl is rather fun to be friends with. It would be awesome if I were to have a friend like her. The way she almost always the victim doesn’t faze me. In fact, it makes me roar with laughter! Chelsea Cain is an astounding writer and I must say, I look forward to the fifth book.

I’m rather disappointed Gretchen doesn’t appear as frequent in the books compared to the previous three books. After all, she’s the antagonist of this book. With her absence, the book seems duller to me. Although some parts of the book had me awe-struck, I’d still prefer having Gretchen back in the book. Gretchen is what brings the book to its current position of fame right now. I know it may sound weird but to me, Gretchen may be one of the most intriguing beauty-killer I’ve known. She is one of a kind and that’s what makes her so special, unlike other female killers.

True, the lack of Gretchen’s presence in this book saddens me. Going on a journey along with Archie to escape from Gretchen is really exciting. Gretchen’s skills are unlike any other killers’. The only part where Gretchen was in this book was the epilogue. It was rather short, for once. However, I’m pretty certain the fifth book will contain plenty of Gretchen and can’t wait to get my hands on them. This series is really addicting!

In general, I like this book. However, the lack of Gretchen in the book just made me down graded the book. I was hoping to see more chemistry between Archie and Gretchen, guess I as wrong. Nevertheless, the book is still a good read. I had the opportunity to learn about marine creatures that could also be deadly weapons. Fortunately, the level of suspense is still there. Therefore, it will be hard for one to put down the thrilling book.
